Additional activities
In parallel with your research work in the lab, you may carry out another activity, as long as it doesn't exceed one sixth of your overall annual working time, appears on your working contract and figures among the activities listed below:
- Teaching (up to 64hours tutorials or equivalent). Every year l'Ecole Polytechnique has several teaching assistantship positions for PhD students to teach undergraduates from the Ingenieurs and Master programs. As a teaching assistant you will be usually appointed for 3 years.
- Promotion of science and research
- Special consulting assignments for companies as a PhD student-consultant
Note that this secondary activity must appear on you working contract together with your research activity.
It cannot exceed 1/6 of you overall annual working time.
It has to be paid at least 338.10 euros gross per month

IMPORTANT:
The rules have changed, we CANNOT deliver "holding several positions" authorizations any more.
Please do not take any commitments that is not included in your working contract "Contrat Doctoral" for next year.

You may carry out your secondary activity elsewhere than Ecole Polytechnique, provided the settlement of an agreement between the two organisations.
