An outstanding environment



The École Polytechnique campus is in a very special setting only 15 km from Paris. Covering 164 hectares (120 of which are green spaces), it provides teaching facilities, student accommodations, catering and hotel services and a range of outstanding sporting facilities for the 4600 people who live, work and study on the campus.

The École Polytechnique is located in the East of Palaiseau, in the South of Paris, since 1976. Two laboratories are situated in Paris: Centre de Recherche en Épistémologie Appliquée (CREA), and the  Centre de Recherche en Gestion (CRG) , 32 boulevard Victor, 75015 Paris.


École Polytechnique is situated on the Plateau de Saclay, which accommodates a large number of scientific establishments and institutions: public research organisations (CNRS, INRA, ONERA, INSERM, CEA...), private research centres (Air Liquide, Danone, Thales R&T, Soleil...) and higher education establishments (Paris XI, Institut d'Optique GS, HEC, Supelec...).

A broad choice of activities and associations Sport is a major activity on the Palaiseau campus. The site offers a wide range of indoor and outdoor facilities, which are open to student and staff members of the X Sports Club.

The campus is busy all year round with a wide range of events and activities of every kind: science lectures, shows, conferences, exhibitions, competitions, ceremonies, sports tournaments.... These events are often open to the public: researchers' night, science festival, heritage day, conferences, sporting events, etc.
